ABOUT

In 2004 the Styleroom was established in Richmond, as an extension of Gusto Clothing, a European clothing distributor, design studio and part-time clearance outlet.

Gusto outgrew their wholesale premises, and a permanent retail store was created, to grow the wonderful business and customer relationships which had already been established through the outlet.

A heritage listed art deco building 200 meters away was renovated into a beautiful mens and women’s luxury clothing and lifestyle business, for which the owner Andrew carefully selected ranges of designer brands and lifestyle items.

The name Styleroom came from the rear studio, which was designed to provide an Image Consulting service for its clientele. With each clients unique colouring, style and fit requirements, the clothing and accessories from the store could be targeted to the appropriate customers.

At the time this idea was novel and over the following years Andrew wrote a series of algorithms of his idea, titled “An Item Recommendation System”, which was granted the Australian patent seven years later.

From this patent he wrote a scientific human colour analysis system, which he received an R&D grant from the Australian Government in 2014, which continued until 2026.

Styleroom closed, and re-opened as a mens only store in Toorak and in 2025 Andrew purchased the legendary American Tailors business - Bourke St Melbourne, including the expert services of Sebastiano Giacobello and together a new Styleroom opened in a beautiful heritage listed Tutor building.

Completing a twenty year circle the Styleroom is now doing what it set out to do twenty years ago, providing a colour and styling analysis system and Made to Measure service.

Andrew continues to travel to Europe twice a year, sourcing new and beautiful products, finding fashion inspiration and direction, and bringing quality craftsmanship and luxury products back to Australia, for his clientele.
